NARĀIṆ DĀS, BHĀĪ, a Julkā Khatrī of the village of ḍallā in present-day Kapūrthalā district of the Punjab, was the grandson of Bhāī Pāro, much reputed in Sikh piety. Narāiṇ Dās was present when Gurū Arjan declined, on the advice of the saṅgat, Chandū Shāh's offer of his daughter's hand for his son Hargobind. He immediately stood up and entreated that his daughter Damodarī be accepted as a match for the Gurū's son. Gurū Arjan received the proposal with favour. The marriage According to Gurbilās Chhevīṅ Pātshāhī took place on 9 Māgh 1661 Bk/7 January 1605.

Tāran Siṅgh
