PAIṚĀ CHHAJJAL, BHĀĪ, and Bhāī Kandū Saṅghar became Sikhs and waited on Gurū Arjan for instruction. The Gurū, says Bhāī Manī Siṅgh, Sikhāṅ dī Bhagat Mālā, advised them to rise early, take a dip in the holy pool, contemplate on the śabda revealed by Gurū Nānak and serve others. Bhāī Paiṛā and Bhāī Kandū followed the Gurū's precept and lived pious lives.
