RĀMDAT SIṄGH (d. 1790), grandfather of Nidhān Siṅgh Pañjhatthā, a gallant soldier in the army of Mahārājā Raṇjīt Siṅgh, and son of Dulchā Singh who died in the service of Rājā Raṇjīt Deo of Jammū, joined the Sukkarchakkīā misl under Mahāṅ Siṅgh, and received command of two hundred horse. Rāmdat Siṅgh died in 1790 fighting in the battle of Manchar, near Rāmnagar, when Mahāṅ Siṅgh suffered defeat at the hands of Chaṭṭhās under Ghulām Muhammad Khān. Rāmdat Siṅgh's eldest son, Sāhib Siṅgh, also died fighting against the Chaṭṭhās a few years later.
