RĀŪ, BHĀĪ, a Kamboj Sikh and masand or tithe-collector assigned to Dīpālpur, was among those of his class summoned by Gurū Gobind Siṅgh to Anandpur to answer charges of appropriating the devotees' offerings and of other misconduct. According to Bhāī Santokh Siṅgh, Srī Gur Pratāp Sūrāj Granth, Bhāī Rāū was pronounced innocent, for the venerable Bhāī Pherū had vouched for his uprightness and good behaviour.
