RŪP KAUR, RĀṆĪ, daughter of Jai Siṅgh of the village of Koṭ Sayyid Mahmūd, now part of Amritsar city opposite Gurū Nānak Dev University, was married to Mahārājā Raṇjīt Siṅgh in 1815. She survived the Mahārājā and was granted an annual pension of Rs 1,980 by the British.
