SĪHĀṄ, BHĀĪ, an Uppal Khatrī of Khaḍūr in present-day Amritsar district of the Punjab, embraced the Sikh faith at the hands of Gurū Aṅgad. He lived at Goindvāl in the time of Gurū Amar Dās. In deference to the Gurū's wish, he gave his daughter, Matho, in marriage to Bhāī Prema, the leper restored to health and renamed Murārī by the Gurū.
